if our bf2 server does go ahead i would like to suggest a few rules for the server which i would think be good:

bunnyhopping aloud/ dolphin diving
no fighting commander
64 map but only have the maxium of 32 players
no base rape
no taking out uav/ scanner because commanders cant do jobs
no claymores on the flag radius
no c4 on flag radius
no g36e lmao tongue.gif
auto-admin
i think the amount of rounds for that map should be 99
friendly fire on

similar to what we had before - i personally have no problems with fighting commanders, and theres a few people here will disagree with the no g36e rule tongue.gif

blimey, am looking at the BF2 server rules posted in August 2007... that's going back a while tongue.gif

bunnyhopping aloud/ dolphin diving - never had a problem with jumping. Dolphin diving disappeared when they patched the stamina penalty

no fighting commander - we used to say fighting commander allowed provided they command properly. Good commanders would provide rear flag defence while commanding, bad ones would just run and gun and use assets for themselves. Might want a poll on this - see what everyone wants? (personally I don't mind either way)*

64 map but only have the maxium of 32 players - agreed more than 32 slots costs more, lags more and requires 10 players to kick it off. *

no base rape - yep, baserape is noobish. We can tailor autoadmin to prevent people running into uncaps. If we get a server I'll bring that viglin xeon server online to act as an admin machine*

no taking out uav/ scanner because commanders cant do jobs - never seen that suggested. Lookin at karkand the non-fighting commanders tended to lurk near their own assets as engineers to repair them. Again am open to other opinions*

no claymores on the flag radius - we previously allowed this. It's not possible (for 1 sniper) to completely cover a flag by claymores so that it can't be capped. I've always felt that its a big pain when you run all the way to cap a flag just to be blown up..but this also help promote teamwork. People don't mind being blown up if they've got a medic near them ready for a revive.*

no c4 on flag radius - c4 on flags is very obvious. Again you can usually get someone where it wont kill you. It also requires the spec ops person to be alive and watching, so means that an attacker must clear the area first. The teamwork factor is alsosame as claymores above.*

no g36e lmao - nope, although I believe the g36e is overpowered, I believe people should be allowed to play the game in their own way. (also because if you restrict g36e, the next weapon people moan about is the gp30 and we wouldn't want that now? smile.gif)*

auto-admin - yeah, for no baserape, long distance shots, namehacks etc.,

i think the amount of rounds for that map should be 99 - if we're doing karkand then yes, saves with the loading between rounds

friendly fire on - the 3 options are On, Off and On for claymores only. FF OFF causes stupidity (e.g. people c4ing themselves to rooftops). The claymore only option reduces clay spammage which is good but then people tend to play support and spam grenades with impunity. (since they won't get negative points for nade damage, you essentially get an advancing wall of explosives tongue.gif)*

hehe im not fussed what happens with rules really just suggested because some things do get annoying lmao tongue.gif but in the end they will get owned anyway tongue.gif

no fighting commander- thats the one thing that brought me to the =SM= server. i kept getting kicked from other servers for killing people that were trying to kill me or cap a flag that i was near while i was commander.

64 map but only have the maxium of 32 players - 32 players is plenty of players. always seems a little crowded with 64.

no taking out uav/ scanner because commanders cant do jobs - that just sounds retarded saying it.

no claymores on the flag radius - claymores piss me off most of every game. but its the snipers weapon, so can't complaign about them. plus if you watch out for them you won't get blown up and you can remove them.

no c4 on flag radius - i've never had a problem with c4.

no g36e lmao - if your dying too much, its cause you suck, not because of the other persons gun.

cant really do the no clays/c4 on flag, unless someone wants to freecam around every game to watch where people put them, its no possible, unless we only kick people who clay/c4 an admin, which is very unfair
cant really say no taking out commander assets either, because its a part of the game, plus its not hard to fix your assets, makes the commander job too easy without, IMO

You should keep the previous rules as they made the server popular?
Just to put my 2 cent in:

1. No Commander (Even though its against EA's ROE) If you choose to advertise comander then allow defense of last flag?
2. Friendly Fire: ON (Deminishes the use of Claymores and C4)
3. (Obviously) No "Bug Usage" and no "Glitch Usage" Admittedly this is hard to enforce as you need to witness such events?
4. No "Spawn Killing/Rape" Once again hard to administer as you need admins online!
4. Nobody better than me allowed on the server! (JOKE)
But on a side note, in order to elimate said "Squad Bug" reload the map like every 5 games or so? Erm................
