Full Version: Ban appeal 24.1.2017 Chivalry

Hey. I recently got banned permanently from the Chivalry server and Id like to reason something out. Knowingly I did wrong. But first some background:

Im a regular player on your server and I have never before caused any problem with other players, nor with the adminstrators of the server. I have gotten kicked only once before because of high ping that I had for a short time because of connection issues in my end.

So I was playing on the server during 24.1.2017 at around 18:00 and some random person was yelling all sort of racist stuff in the all chat for longer time. He talked at some point how he loved black women large tits and I replied once "n****rtits". I know it was stupid comment but at the time I thought it would have been "funny". As a person I am not a racist in anyway and I find it a bit too harsh to get instantly permanently banned for one stupid comment that I meant to be funny, not racist or offending. I didint get any warning for it neither. Couple of minutes later I, along with the other player that had been racist all the time got banned. I believe the admin who gave me this ban immediately was named SM rotor but I can be mistaken.

Knowing I did wrongly id hope we could reason something out. Like changing the ban to x amount of time instead of permanent when taking account my clean history prior this incident. Id like to stay playing on your server simply because of the great time I have had in the past with the community there.

Sorry for my sluggish English simply because it isnt my native language.

And lastly, I am sorry.

You being a regular does not give you special treatment. You're in no position to question our ban length regardless of how 'clean' your history is.

I am not asking for special treatment, Im trying to express myself and make some resolve over this thing instead of such a harsh penalty. And I beg to disagree on the history part. In my opinion it should tell and show you guys that I am by no means a toxic player nor a troublemaker in anyway.

I have always loved and enjoyed playing on your server and would hate to see myself get permanently banned for such a silly stupid comment... I've learned my lesson from this and believe the permanent to be a little too harsh. All I am asking for is some mercy on the punishment.

Vivik, please provide your steam ID.

After that you'll have to wait for the admin who banned you to reply. If he or she doesn't do that in 3 days, you'll be temporarily unbanned.

This was me that made the ban, remotely.

Regarding prior form, it goes two ways: a person that's never been on the server before may not be aware of the rules or think, as with many official servers, that the rules won't be enforced. Someone that's a regular on the server should be well aware of the rules, spalshed each time they join and probably would have seen them being upheld in the past. So it kind of balances out the prior good form = server regular = someone that should know the rules. It doesn't matter whether it's a noob, a regular or even a clan member. I'd apply these rules equally.

Aside from the welcome screen that shows the rules, we don't normally expressly warn - it's too difficult to track between admins who's been warned and how long ago. The simplest way to enforce the rules is to take some form of action such as a kick or a ban. To be honest intentional TKing and racist language should just be common sense and shouldn't explicitly require harping on about smile.gif

I'll lift the ban now, but please remember the rules of the server smile.gif

thanks,
