I was on the Chivalry server today (08-01-2016) at about 1320 GMT and was kicked for 'unspecified reason', then when I tried to rejoin it says I have been IP banned.

I don't recall saying or doing anything distinct (though I may have, my memory isn't very good so I might have said something in chat. I have been warned for complaining about things before), though I have a feeling that it might be something to do with my ping spikes. I have an unstable wifi connection which sometimes decides every few minutes to spike my ping up 200 points for a few seconds, which forces me to sort of stand around and wait for it to pass. This hasn't been a problem before for anyone else, but I suppose different admins have different standards, and there are a lot of players to get lost in, and a lot of admins to meet in a 64 player server so maybe it is a problem previously overlooked.

I'd at least like to have details on the ban, even if there is no intention on lifting it.

Are you sure you weren't voteckicked? When kicked it adds a small 5min ban so you can't join back straight away.

There was no votekick, plus I checked back a while later to see if I wasn't only session banned. Connection failed error stated IP ban.

Hmmm well the admin that banned you will need to step forward and explain why you were banned and judge if you should be unbanned, sit tight.

I can't seem to find your steam profile. The last bans we've seen have been for FuR10u5, Mouthy Alfie & Feyrbrand (temp)
Also the few bugged netID bans don't tally up with any info you've given, so still a bit baffled

It is strange if you can't find me though. However I just checked again and apparently I am no longer banned. I am sure it was not a session ban though, maybe I was banned for a set number of hours? I assume that would show up in your logs though. It might have been a glitch in my connection. My connection is so horrible that I wouldn't be surprised if my ISP decided to self-ban me from a game server for the day for some bizarre reason.

Well I suppose this resolved itself, though maybe this experience can help people in the future somehow? I actually have no idea what has happened here today lol
