billw
Banned for revenge kicking someone who kicked me out of spawn (I'm guessing). It says IP banned for current session but I can't join even after map change. I am sorry for breaking the rules, however it does seem a bit harsh to perma ban with no warning for something so minor. Any chance I could at least find out how long I am banned for please? I play this server all the time, I'm not interested in playing Chiv unless it's on here!

Oops, clicked the wrong button.
"For current session" probably means it's a votekick, which are 5 minutes bans.

Please provide more info :
- ingame name = billw ?
- when did it happen ?
- do you remember if any admin (=SM= tag) were on the server at that time ?

Thanks for reply. Yeah I waited way more than 5 minutes before trying again, still no luck!
Ingame name is billw, happened maybe around 10-10.30pm, there was an SM player on but I can't remember their name sorry, if I saw a list of players I could probably remember.

I checked the ban's description and it says "attacking teammates", can't see who issued the ban.
We then will wait for the admin who banned you to come and reply. Only him is entitled to remove the ban.

Please be patient, if it takes more than 3 days and there is still no reply, we can (temporarily) remove the ban (he can re-ban if he wants to).

This may have been me. Although if it was it was not a recent ban :s

Anyway may aswell lift it for now.

Although @bill : do bear in mind that we have to take action if we see people TKing (especially in spawn) however even when there are admins online we can't see everything that happens in the server. Likewise it's common that people intentionally TKing always blame the other person for starting it, so without being there to witness it we have to take action on anyone TKing.

If being TKd you can report it in game if an admin is on, votekick the player, or report to any member over steam, we even have a contact an admin link on the front page, which will email me

Thanks a lot! Just to be clear I definitely didn't TK anyone (unless it was in battle, and obviously accidental). I was running out of spawn and got kicked in the back, and just instinctively turned around and kicked back. Then I just carried on running fowards and forgot about it. Then 20 seconds later banned!

I know now it is against the rules, but given that it happens all the time it obviously isn't generally heavily enforced, and a insta ban is pretty heavy handed regardless given that it does next to no damage.

I can imagine if someone was just hanging around spawn constantly kicking people then it is obvious griefing then a kick or ban might be appropriate, but getting kicked in spawn occasionally is just par for the course.
