Full Version: New admin overreacting team damage

Hello!

I was permabanned for team damaging because someone shot be at spawn and I replied with a slash. I had done one intentional team damage before that during the match and the admin warned me but the second was aimed at the provocator. The admin instantly permabanned me and even if I had kept harassing friendlies it should just have been tempoban first from him. It is either overreacting or direct abuse.

Hello dani.

I have permanently banned you just after you hit me at spawn for no reason. Before I had warned you not to attack your teammates, as it is clearly stated in the rules that attacking your teammates for any reason is forbidden. Please, expand on how is that overreacting or direct abuse. You had been warned and I do not have to temporarily ban you before.

Unless you apologise the ban will not be lifted. Please, read the rules like I asked you to do. And I believe this is not the first time I see your name coming up, I am pretty sure I have either kicked you or warned you even before for the same thing.

Let me rephrase it once again: attacking teammates for any reason is forbidden. Even if you wanted to hit 'the provocator' this is against the rules to do so. Revenge TKing is forbidden. Seriously, it is all written in the rules.

PS I am not really a new admin, well that's debatable.

Edit: http://www.sneakymonkeys.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1747 here, I can even post the rules for you so you can learn them by heart.

Agreed with trout. It is NOT allowed to attack teammates. You are no exception to the rule, no matter the circumstances.

As for this,

you do not set the rules and consequences, we do. Trout was well within his right to permanently ban you from the server and he in no way overreacted to your actions. As trout said, without an apologie and the realisation of what you did wrong, there's little chance of the ban being lifted.

Yes, you had warned me beforehand but I don't remember of any match where you kicked me, in fact it's either the first time I played under you or I haven't noticed it yet. I do apologize if that was you in the second case I thought I hit the attacker but I'll pay more attention in the future and avoid rage team damage. So I do regret what happened and I'm appealing for an unban, obviously it won't happen again.

I know, and I'm sure everyone knows, how difficult it is to remain cool and not respond when someone intentionally attacks you. There's no problem when an admin's on, but when none of them are connected, most of the times if the attacker has low TD you won't even get him kicked.

What I usually do when it happens to me, is record the TK or TD (if you have a geforce, you can record playtime after the fact, although the default key is F10 which leads to death tongue.gif - I don't know if ATI has a similar feature). Then I'm instantly calmed down and giggling to myself about how I'm gonna get his ass banned.

After that, I'm usually too lazy to edit and upload the video, and say to myself it's not that worth it. Of course that will change if an offender do it again on me, but I haven't encountered the case yet.

Alrighty Dani, I will lift the ban later in the evening. Please, respect the rules, that's all I'm asking for, we're really not the monsters that some players claim us to be.
