In preparation for BC2 clan server, I've started looking into the server security. However due EA's penile attitude on not releasing the server files to anyone outside of the official server providers it will restrict things a lot.

In the BF2 days we streamed to punksbusted, pbbans and gcc. If someone was banned on a server that also streamed to these and tried to join ours they would be kicked straight away. It obviously didn't solve all cheating but it took some of the annoying admin work off our hands and left us more time to play. Without this it means each server is on it's own, there won't be any form of master ban list unless EA change their minds.

The best I can do is for local hash checks, memory scan and reviewing pbss. I'll also see if I can get the internal hash player DB working too so at least we can identify alias on accounts.

All in all not a very satisfactory security arrangement so far. sad.gif
