So I've had a few people say to me that they believe that people can see the outlines of players when they shouldn't see them at all. Last game I played with Cabletwitch, I was told that one of the players on my team would shoot directly at infected through walls before they spawned.. Is there a known hack or some sort of glitch that you know about that its this issue?

Funny you should mention that...
It's important to note people can aim through walls using sound - I have 7.1 speakers/headphones and these allow me to pinpoint sound (especially boomers) fairly easily, combined with a rifle which pierces almost anything, some people have accused me of 'wallhacking' However, as with most online games, stupid little hacking kids have begun their work. Currently I'm aware of several aimbots and wallhacks that would allow this. I've written a couple of basic anti-cheat scripts against the most common (public ones downloaded from bit torrent etc.,) but there are still plenty out there that are not detected. There's a sourceforge project open since November with about 6 programmers called "deadcore" to include a large and complex anti-cheat package. Since I've usurped my way into lead programmer role, we'll be the first to try out the code when it's ready. Until then I can only suggest people keep their guard up and make sure you've requested admin rights on the servers soo you can kick/ban people. -------------------- |

Yeah, I've been accused of wallhacking so so so many times.... They must be people with either one ear or one speaker that give out. they yell "Wall haxor" I reply "basic physics"... As for staying prudent, I've only had to kick one person so far and it was this racist guy running around spraying swastika's all over the shop and in No Mercy mission 3 he decided to ust sprint ahead of his team and basically ruin the round for em, so I kicked him. (Not ban though since really all he did (from what I saw) was spray the pics and behave like an arse when he got fed up). but yes, a suspected player for using hacks was a guy called equation (though used various symbols to spell it out)

I still don't have your account details - I've triggered an account retrieval thing, so look in your email for username/password etc.,
Once you can login, let me know your first/last name on your profile and your username As for development of those anti-cheat things I tried them out on a dev server (thx to teamhost for providing this) and it did ban 2 people over the course of last night. I'm currently working on a web portal to bridge the bans across multiple servers (using a sql database) - this should allow admin controls from the main site. I'm also not calling this anti-cheat thing 'deadcore' since I don't have fantasies of being the matrix Main problem at the moment is communications from this website to the game servers is blocked by the webhosts, I've asked them to open the required ports, but whether they actually will or not or another matter. -------------------- |
