We now have the ability to remotely administer the Chivalry servers, the rules are pretty simple:
Kicks/Bans for intentional TK's (depending on severity) Kicks for repeated annoying kick votes Excessive use of High FOV 3rd person overheads (Groundsniffing). You may be warned first, then kicked and eventually banned Bans for racism (further discussion here) - bans are currently set to 14 days and are automatic. For this sort of autoban, just deal with consequences of your actions. Please do not waste our time by appealing, unless you want it lengthening Other info Admins many cancel kick votes if no reason for the vote is given, or if no reason is obvious Glitching into places that you wouldn't normally have access to for spawnrape, advantage etc., warning then kick/ban depending on severity TKing someone that TK'd you is not acceptable. If you think someone has done it intentionally then either a kick vote or report it to an admin (otherwise people just spout the usual excuse of 'but he started it first and I was just defending myself') No tk'ing/kicking people who are AFK. The only reason to kick a teammate is if they are blocking an exit. No tk'ing people who are using ballistas/catapults because you want a go or think that they're doing more harm than good (in the latter a quick word with them in chat and if things don't improve then a kick vote are the way to go) Use of =SM= tags are for clan members only. If you use =SM= in your name you may be asked to remove your tags and rejoin, failing that will result in a ban. Likewise a few odd people that claim to be an admin in chat (who are not) will be banned. Admins have the rights to remove players from game for reasons such as excessively high ping (typically around 180ms although this may be lower/higher depending on server performance) or for behaviour that is considered disruptive to the server as a whole, including excessive use of high-fov 3rd person VG overheads (these players should be warned and kicked first). The ping autokick is broken. instead of kicking it perma bans by netID. As such if Agatha spawn bug or a server burp happens it bans everyone on the server, therefore can't be used. No exploiting bugs or game mechanics: so for example getting into places that you shouldn't be able to for advantage e.g. stonehill castle when attacking by superjump or hanging back as a defender on the castle walls when the spawn moves forward in order to oilpost/ballista in an unreachable place.. This also includes exploit of bugs for trolling such as some people using removal of VOIP icon to play music/porn without people being able to mute them (as the server population no longer will know who is using voip) since it's disruptive to the server (and actually lags the server a bit) in general, anyone caught doing so faces warning then bans. Our admins are primarily there to play games, same as the rest of the people on the server who are guests. Banter is fine, but those who are constantly berating or belittling other players, admins or the server in general are not. If you have some interesting views on sexual orientation/abortion/rape/religion or other contentious topics, that's fine, but a game server is not really an appropriate place to be convincing people. Constant prattling on contentious topics unrelated to the game (including spoilers which we generally just ban for) will eventually be taken for what it is 90% of the time - an attempt to troll and get a rise out of people. It'll be dealt with appropriately (probably kicks or bans). Slinging around minor insults excessively or more extreme insults may see you being warned/kicked/banned at the discretion of online admins. Spamming the chat or TS will get you muted or kicked. Just use common sense and don't be an arse. Likewise information from server logs/screenshots/match recordings may result in retrospective bans for anything listed above. If you have concerns regarding freedom of speech, there's a larger topic here: http://www.sneakymonkeys.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1787 If you have complaints please approach these in a constructive manner (preferably a post on this website so all admins can see them) - typical childish insults on the server will result in warnings/kicks/bans. IF you have issues with an admin abusing their powers, please make a post or PM me with time/dates and evidence. We can't just take the word of a stranger on the internet. False accusations of admin power abuse ( "banned for no reason/killing admins/being too good" etc.,) will result in a permanent ban. @regarding trolls: admins do not have to explain themselves to the server in general. Think of the servers like a house party that we're inviting you to. You turn up and start belittling, patronizing and condescending the hosts, their house or other guests and unsurprisingly you'd be asked to leave, or just be thrown out. Same applies to our servers. So go ahead and say how shit or laggy the server is, but expect to be thrown out until you learn some common manners. We ask that current =SM= members are not members of other chivalry clans. Clans in different games are fine as is merc'ing for other chivalry clans. If a member is found to be representing multiple chivalry clans they will be removed from =SM= Anything else, let me know MonkeyFiend
Reason for edit: 24/06/14 - added notes about =SM= clan tags/impersonating admin, Edit 12/08/15 to add no multi-clan membership rules

If its alright I would like to add the Duel server rules, basically any rules written above also apply however there are a few specific ones for the duel server.
- Do not Free for All(FFA), in order to duel you need to 'bow'down by crouching and slightly looking down while using the voice command saying 'Yes', the other person needs to do the same to accept it or simple use the voice command 'No' to simply decline his/her request. Revenge FFA isn't allowed either, this causes a massive influence and the domino effect, 'Social Justice (Keyboard)Warriors' who will FFA you, for FFA'ing another player. It doesn't matter if there are two minuets left or not until the timer has hit 0:00 FFA is not allowed! - Do not use throwables/projectiles - Do not repeatedly kick people, especially after they decline your request for a duel. - Do not interupt players who are dueling in any way. Some examples ; running in between a duel, kicking players who are in a duel, 'bodyblocking' which is where you use your own character model to restrict the movement of the other players who are dueling. etc. - Do not flood the chat about people using certain elements in the game such as feints, drags, spins etc. Yes, the duelyard is a very harsh place for inexperienced players and more often than not many high ranked players are here. Flooding the chat with messages such as ''omg noob stop feinting'' etc will result in a mute/kick. - Do not drink from the fountain during a duel. - Do not duel at the fountain, this prevents you from hitting anyone on 'accident' those who are going to heal from it. - Do not abuse the voting system, spamming votekicks to kick a certain players because you felt unfairly about the outcome of your duel is not allowed. Rules highlighted in red are generally punished harder and are heavenly frowned upon by the competitive scene of Chivalry. I can't think of anything else at the moment, I will edit and add more if I come up with more, obviously feedback is always welcome -------------------- |
