Just wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing shite pings on the multiplay servers.
I connected to a 43ping server last night and was getting around 120-150 ping and believe it or not this is twice as fast as i get on our server. Getting very frustrating as the game is almost unplayable. Wondered why i would muller someone directly in my iron sites to absolutely no effect. Kermit was on the same server as me last night and had a better ping. System Specs c2d 6700 4gb ram Nvidia 9800 gtx Even with the above spec i have to turn all settings down to low online to gain a bit of improvement. Monkey did suggest a solution but havent tried it yet. Hypo -------------------- |

it seems its a major issue on all the ea forums when things finally get sorted we'll all be running about with pings of 50 hopefully -------------------- WIP...

Although your ping is high I think monkey mentioned something about the ping being displayed in game is 2X what your real ping is. So although you're getting lag it may not be as high a ping as you think, but its clearly giving you issues. Not had a problem with multiplay servers at all myself.

yep, the ping displayed in game is incorrectly displaying as twice what it is in reality.
I have my suspicions that your game is lagging because the hardware is still struggling with the game rendering and the network is waiting to catch up. An easy test for this... Assuming your ping is in game is displayed as 240ms, therefore your real ping when playing is around 120ms Without the game etc., running - If you open a command promt (start>run>cmd) and ping the server: ping 85.236.102.74 The reply in ms should show your ping when the computer is not under cpu/graphics load caused by the game. If you have a good ping then it likely the computer spec is causing the lag. If your ping is still bad here it's more likely a routing or ISP issue -------------------- |
