wish i could help, ive had vista x64 and windows 7 x64 installed for over a year or 2 now and the only issues ive had is it locking up everynow and again, a simple ctrl+shift+esc /delete process usually lets me restart steam without any more issues

I've not ha much experience of vista (either 32 or 64 bit) as I'm not a fan. I have heard of 64bit having issues with SLI setups - could try disabling sli in your graphics control panel (providing you're not using sli tongue.gif)

I personally would try looking at your graphics drivers first - current/beta etc.,

I don't use a deskband, so have no idea which work on 32 or 64 bit tongue.gif
