Usual suspects for this are bad internet connection (ISP related), punkbuster causing problems (try manually updating punkbuster from the evenbalance website) or problems with CPU affinity on dual/quad core systems, in which case you could try:

CTRL + ALT + DEL
click on processes
right click on bf2.exe
select 'Set Affinity'
deselect whichever core you don't want to use (it doesn't really matter which)

hmm sounds like the AMD aimbot edition tongue.gif

Have to say, good work on the AM2 6000+ - that would be the same one as my current setup biggrin.gif (on a crosshair mobo)

There's a timing problem on some dual cores, have a look here http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=983781
(coincidentally bioshock/crysis shipped with this patch)

Loading everything onto one core would also sort the problem - since a 3ghz single core is more than enough for battlefield.

I've tried running it on one core and for me it doesn't make any difference, bah :s
