The answer to the math problem
I did horrible probability in College If one of 3 boxes contains fun, that means that each box has 33.33% chance of having fun so to summarise Box 1 = 33.33% Box 2 = 33.33% Box 3 = 33.33% But wait.. monkey opens Box 3 and laughs in your face saying what now? Box 1 still has 33.33% chance of having fun however Box 2 is now 66.66% chance of having goodies inside why? here's the tricky semantics Box 1 has a 33.33% chance of having goodies, which means that there is a 66.66% chance of goodies NOT being in there.. So when Box 2 and 3 where there, the probability of fun NOT being in box 1 was 66.66% split two ways into box 2 and 3... but since box 3 is taken away then that 66.66% chance of NOT being in box 1 and being in box 2 and 3, can now be interrupted as a 66.66% chance of fun being in box 2 alone. I hope you followed |

Since I couldn't think of a puzzle that people wouldn't either get straight away or cheat using goolge, I thought I'd post a link to:
http://www.deathball.net/notpron/ [Edit: reposted the above, I used the wrong address (bad memory in my old age)] (it really isn't so should be safe to click) solve that one then -------------------- |

If, 10X (= 9.999999) - X (= .999999) = 9X (= 9) Therefore X = 1 yay for me -------------------- There are 10 types of people in this world, those who understand binary and those who don't |

How can you not follow that? Its just a simple subtraction equation consiting of two constituents which prove that .9 reccuring is another way of writting 1, so there

if u think you no it so well why dont you give an indepth explanation instead of writing an equation (which looks like shite) where you could have copied and pasted it from anywhere, without a proof.

If you start with 10X represented by the number 9.999999 and subtract 1X represented by .999999 you end up with 9X represented by the number 9. Therefore 1X = 1
If you don't follow that then you are PROPERLY RETARDED! -------------------- There are 10 types of people in this world, those who understand binary and those who don't |
