quote Dice patch developer:
"We have one thing left to do on the update and thats to compile and build the installer for the update. So now we are very close to having something. Once we make the installer we'll do some internal testing then open it up to you all." Although still no concreate dates, the bf2 1.5 patch should undergo internal testting in the next week or so and then by out for beta to a select few -------------------- |

if and when the patch (with new maps) comes out, I'll sort out a bf2 server (even if its just to test it and see if people want to get back into bf2)

Last I heard it was:
Shanghai_showdown map (now renamed to something else) J10/F35 balance Preventing Namespoofing Prevent hackers crashing players to desktop Prevent hackers spamming crates/vehicles/uav's Tidying up of some gamehooks that should break (at least temporarily) some hacks Widescreen support A selection bug fixes (looping medic/ammo sounds) Blackhawk armour boost Thats most of what I've heard, although I'm out of the loop on all things battlefield these days -------------------- |

so apart from the obvious security upgrades (which should have been done long ago)
the only thing there that i care for is widescreen support, which i can live without. lame -------------------- |

there might be more, but I've not heard of anything else... I installed a copy of bf2 1.2 and fuck me is it great
Noobtube blast damage is huge compared to how it is now. I've been kicked from 3 of the 4 servers I've been on for 'cheating' with the grenade launcher -------------------- |

nope, widescreen was added in 2142 patch 1.5 i think - thats why it's easy to add it to bf2 (since 2142 was basically a (bad) mod of bf2 anyway )

yup - thats a bit of a tweak settings, but it doesn't actually make the game widescreen, portions of what you'd normally be able to see are chopped off, check out the bf2 forums and you'll find a whole plethora of whingers
