Son of Meme insulted me several in an unacceptable way and without any reason,
you will see the severity of it in the log as I don't want to go into details here.


If you could please look at it, as I'm requesting a ban because this is the only thing I can do to him...

No it means only Monkeyfiend can acces the logs and hes gone on holiday and screenshots do make it easier to search for 'keywords'

I figured it would be common sense to atleast provide 'proof' not saying he is lying but I don't blindly trust people whether they regulars or not. The same way if I ban someone for being toxic I have to provide some proof if that person decides to come here for an appeal and ask for proof of his/her actions. I like to treat everyone on a same level, unlike some admins who show traits of favouritism.

Regarding my '''reputation'' here is that I couldn't care any less what people think of me. If people think I am a cunt, they are free to think that way. To me, it makes sense when I report a player, I provide some screenshots so any admin can look at the shots when that person was misbehaving (in the chat).

Obi: screenshots are appreciated as we can take more immediate action with those. Monkey's currently on a short vacation so going through the chatlogs is going to have to wait as he's the only one with access (that we know of anyway ). Do you know in what vein the insults were? Some examples?

Thank you for reporting it. As already said in various ways, we can't check the logs atm so indeed a screenshot could have allowed us to take a quick action against the rulebreaker.
Please be patient until MonkeyFiend comes back, but rest assured we will keep an eye on Son of meme.

Please, let's all approach this in a professional way and hold this request for a week until we get the needed evidence.

I've now set a full ban on son of meme.

Although we can check through logs, bucket's polite request that "For future reference please take screenshots, thank you. " is reasonable. We do get people reporting users for stuff that didn't actually happen; chivalry (and UE3 engine games) don't by default log chat/teamkills etc., so we rely on custom written tools to do so, which are flaky at the best of times. People familiar with chiv know this and some abuse the fact and try to report people for stuff that didn't happen.

The point is, if something occurs on a server when an admin isn't around it takes a second to get definitive proof with a screenshot. However by just reporting something going on, it means someone (me usually ) has to trawl through the server log files fishing for info. So it's not really an unusual request. The official server require either screenshots/video evidence or an official server admin to be online. The devs and admins of official servers typically would never look through the logs.

I was a little surprised by your followup "Then I will look for other option... " - a somewhat veiled threat.

Since son of meme is banned, will close this thread.
