Struggle to survive in a harsh medieval world. Hunt wildlife, mine resources, build structures, and craft weapons and armor in order to protect yourself. You may form a guild, bring war to all opposition, and try to seize the throne and become king!
In Reign of Kings we allow you to collect resources and craft a wide variety of items needed to build a vast and powerful kingdom. We were primarily inspired by Rust & Chivalry in the development of this game. Trailer: Review: Game on steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/344760/ |

I already brought this up in the shoutbox, Darwin said that this was made by the same company as Starforge, which they abandoned half way through alpha stage and released at full price, be wary with Reign of Kings, it may look awesome but they are just as likely to abandon this as they did Starforge...

I did sent this trailer a while ago, and of course this game look great ^^
But Fool is right, I think we should wait and see, how the game will progress. There are also 2 others game which look awesome in my opinion : Kingdom Delivrance : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_D48PCFshHg And of course Star Citizen : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbZLbb0_RBI -------------------- Darwin |

I had promised myself not to buy another game in alpha. Although this one was medieval themed and i just had to buy it ;p. After having played loads of dayz and rust the survival genre has become a bit boring and this one is not much different from the previous ones. Things i didn't like were the low player amount in servers (20-30) and the wrapping which made fighting really awkward for me.

Things i didn't like were the low player amount in servers (20-30) and the wrapping which made fighting really awkward for me. The only recent survival game I thoroughly recommend is 'The Long Dark' (http://intothelongdark.com/) (http://store.steampowered.com/app/305620/) Just play it on the regular difficulty and it's just a damned nice game and bloody hard. I personally find modern games lacking in difficulty - too many save points and assist systems. The long dark on Medium difficulty is excellent. Avoid the easy mode though. Hard mode I'd only recommend after surviving a while at medium. For me the game has something the original Dayz mod delivered: bleak desolate atmosphere. The feeling you get after searching for half an hour to get 1 or two bullets, then trying to take down a deer knowing that if you miss you'll likely starve. Or being stalked by bastard wolves in the middle of snowstorm, trying to find some shelter before you get your face mauled off. And that fucking wolf (named Fluffy) inside one of the buildings. -------------------- |

MF, thanks for that recommendation, i'll have to tell a friend about this game, he loves that kind of hard survival.
I had promised myself not to buy another game in alpha. Well, I think that doesn't apply if we can check the studio's history and if yes, how did it went for their previous games. Space Engineer was a really good game with a solid team working on it and releasing patches once a week, so I bought Medieval Engineers as soon as it was in early access. Early access is a matter of trust, don't trust strangers |

Early access is a matter of trust, don't trust strangers Well we can argue for a long time about that ;p I strongly beleive that preordering and early alpha's are a joke right now, steam is flooded with those games ,most of them will never be completed and many developers are abusing it like The stomping land. Paying for a product without having any proof that it is getting completed apart from the developer's word is not happening in other industries. Preorders also hurt the product imo because most companies focus on hyping it (Elder scrolls online) and they get their revenue before even the product is released. In that case they don't focus/care about its quality. |
