Set Me Straight With A PoleHammer, Plunder Bunnies Options

Greetings all,
I have been a longtime lurker on Sneaky Monkeys, donated on occasion too. But due to over commitments to another gaming community have never bothered to socialize on the forums, I only ever voted. I know some of you know me, Some of you probably hate my feinting. However i thought i would say hello and ask a couple of questions regarding your servers as i recently discovered something i don't like very much and didn't believe was going on involving some of the SM admins on the chivalry server. Both friends and i frequently use your servers as they are nothing short of the best we find, However there seems to be an ever increasing number of random kicks being put down, Usually i wouldn't believe anyone when they told me that they were kicked from a round unfairly, That includes some of the other long time players, Which is both annoying when you have to wait to get a place back. But tonight i feel that i experienced this myself. While i will not name/shame anyone personally as its not something i found ever did any good. I have never had any problem with the server or admins in all the time i have played on there, Except Sneeky because he kicks me into rivers, At 19:40 10/10/2014 I was kicked for -annoying- behavior, With a claim that i was warned several times, Utterly shocked at this as i neither team kill/troll/block or do anything otherwise unacceptable i looked back through my Over wolf and found no such thing had occurred. After asking politely why i was kicked, I was given nothing short of a vague excuse and a reference to the SM house party rule. While we will always respect the server and its admin, I think that being clear to your players is only fair isnt it? Both in game and out?, You warn me about something, I will -always- listen, While i can appreciate a admin might be click happy when they are in a bad mood or feel someone has broken a rule (Two have admitted this to me themselves ^^). An explanation would be polite. I frequently role play in game for a laugh with friends and have never had anyone take issue with this, I have seen SM members take part time and time again for some comical fun. However on this occasion i was asked to tone it down and i did. Could someone please look back through the log and send me a message to explain why i was kicked? As far as i was aware a SM admin were not given the power to kick someone just because they personally found them -annoying- ... Or were they? If so, Ill have to rethink the way i play the game next time i kick Porsuk into a river.

I'll be the first to admit I can overreact towards annoying behaviour. Most admins probably know this, too. However, saying he's gotten no warnings and that he 'demands an explanation' as to why I kicked him are a bridge too far for me. He had gotten multiple warnings after which I was, in essence, told to shut up. His general attitude appeared to be that he could do everything he wants, that he's king, as long as he didn't break the tk rule.

The explanation is clear. You were annoying. Yes, we do get to kick people for that if things get out of hand or if it's starting to mess with the attitude on the server. We've had some attitude problems lately and we keep an extra eye out for it, some more than others. This is why I kicked you off the server.

I wont hide the fact i disagree with many of the decisions some admins make or the way they talk to people (dithyrambique). Soon you wont be able to talk or play on the server without fear of being kicked or banned.

No it isnt, "I'll be the first to admit I can overreact towards annoying behaviour" Self explanatory, Just because -YOU- want to slam on everybody else and take offense at something not directed at you in the slightest doesnt give you right right to be a douchebag, a view shared by many right now. I have worked with people like -you- myself, in several different countries. Your vague, aloof and totally self rightous in every decision you make, This is a computer game and a community on it, A view shared not only by me but others.

If your going to go down the holy-than thou road Turbo-midget i would suggest you get your story -straight- and stick to your guns when deciding to kick people in their ass. Next time we see people either roleplaying screwing around with firepots/catapultbreaking/kicking we can expect you to kick everybody involved right? ^^ YOU and plenty of other SM admins have never taken any issue with in character jesting before and have even encouraged it and taken part yourself. Actually, I never take part in that stuff and several admins can attest to that. Not sure why you're making this one up.

Now, I'm not sure whether you're serious and our opinions differ too much to understand one another or whether you're a very sophisticated troll, but I'm done with this conversation. I'll leave it up to Monkey to give me feedback on what I can improve, because we're not getting anywhere.

Don't try to hide or sugarcoat it with "roleplaying".

After that, you behaviour was to be entitled to your rights to have fun your way, disregarding the admins.

I have no issue with you Stormcrow, and everytime I see you saying "Hello", I happily reply to welcome you. But I'm kind of confused about your main argument (being vague). Maybe it's because English isn't my native language, but for me and after reading everything (sorry, it's a public thread, you chose to post here instead of sending a PM to monkeyFiend as it is stated in the MotD) everything looks clear to me.

I also go like "what the fuck man ?" whenever I see someone using rape comments and stuff like that. Never complained about it, but I find that out of place, too extreme for a game supposed to be fun. I agree with the guy who said it creates a bad atmosphere. Maybe you should consider that some people don't think it's funny. Everyone may have an opinion and just because you think its funny don't give you the right to say it is actually funny and the ones who don't like it can't get jokes or understand roleplaying.

You know, I got permabanned after 200+ hours on Limited Archer (it was lifted after few hours) for one single intentionnal hit to a full health ally. What did I do ? Complaining on the forums because I see people TK two allies on purpose and only get a kind warning ? No. I apologized. Maybe being a bit humble and get over this without overracting (it was just a kick, why making such a public scandal ?) would just make things better and help keeping it clean. Admins are judges and may take a decision that isnt defined in the rules if THEY think (not you) it's justified. That is even stated in the official Torn Banner rules.

But that's just my opinion, as you have yours. Please, just try to understand other's opinions.

Get your facts straight, will you? The whole of SM knows I'm one of the few admins who doesn't make an exception for Farmer and frequently kills him. You're doing a great job of discrediting yourself though, so do keep going.

Its you who needs to get your story straight, You can make personal statements all you want, thats not what i was told and not what i have seen in the past, Lying isnt very nice. Regardless of who you are both in SM and outside it. You act like you have sort of inferiority issue Turbo, All your posts have ever been are personally defensive and personally aggressive, I was warned about that, But i dont give ten kinds of f*** either way. My question and point stands. Im pretty sure you will be emoting and playing happily along the next time a group of players are screwing around on a catapult/fire potting it. It is an unusual kick here. I have not read the rules, but I have been in the clan for a number of years. I have never seen someone get kicked for rambling on in the game chat unless they were being racists and disrespectful of other players. I do not see any of that from the chat logs. I type all kinds of crazy shit into the game chat and can get a bit carried away sometimes, but I drink a lot and live on the other side of the lake. I'm with Turbo on this one. I can see where he is coming from. A lot of the action taken by admins is up to admin discretion. Stormcrow was not only warned multiple times but also denied being warned and kept on with the disruptive behavior. Turbo had full rights to kick there, I can even quote from the rules :

"Admins have the rights to remove players from game for reasons such as excessively high ping (typically around 200ms although this may be lower/higher depending on server performance) or for behaviour that is considered disruptive to the server as a whole, including excessive use of high-fov 3rd person VG overheads (these players should be warned and kicked first)"

Furthermore,

"@regarding trolls: admins do not have to explain themselves to the server in general . Think of the servers like a house party that we're inviting you to. You turn up and start belittling, patronizing and condescending the hosts, their house or other guests and unsurprisingly you'd be asked to leave, or just be thrown out. Same applies to our servers."

Sure, you were roleplaying. But that doesn't mean you get to be an asshole to the admins. Plus, you were warned several times to stop, which you ignored:

In my opinion, that kick should be expanded to a temp ban for being an asshole to admins and for how you handled this situation. After messaging the admin, demanding an explanation, Turbo explained why he kicked you but rather than understanding why you were kicked, you decided it was a good idea to blame the admin for everything and then ask for an apology.
