Anyways I've been playing this game for a while now, I started off really rubbish because this is prob my first ever "proper" wargame, i do have a fair amount of tf2 experience but tf2 is a diff prospect entirely
A lot of my time playing has been under the tutelage of our very own 6 <3. luckily for me, he has been willing to teach me how to get around in the world of bc2 and all in exchange for 100 "willing" stabby stabs ^^ Some of my best BC2 moments have been playin' 1 on 1 with 6 on a empty server be it rush CQ or SQDM and having awesome times killing each other to the best of our abilities without the distractions of being caught in cross fires and apc nastiness Ok I think I'm digressing! I always try to listen to what members of the clan are saying, and have noticed a distinct apathy for the more competitive nature of the game i.e. Squad rush (mortaring m'coms etc) and even sometimes SQDM ( last in the APC is a rotten egg an all that). So my idea is a sort of 1 on 1 tournament for fairness I have chosen two maps Isla Innocence and Laguna Presa, both using the SQDM versions of these maps, as random spawn points are needed to keep it fair. also both these maps are a pretty good size for flanking opportunities and ofc a pre-agreed rule that the apc is out of bounds for both parties involved. Right now I'm thinking All kits/Equipment are allowed and even kit changing after each death to keep each other on their toes. Another reason i chose these maps is that there are opportunities for "Spectating" ^^ isla has cliffs on either side that can be scaled for a good view of the battlefield ofc once in position spectators should not be engaging in either A. Spotting (thinking spotting should be turned off) or B. Audience participation ( no nades or smoke [sorry 6])!. While Presa has the infamous "lookout mountain" or as i like to call it "snypa's folly" These areas could also be considered "off limits" for the participants to avoid cheeky blighter's from mingling or hiding ^^ matches could be a simple first to 10 kills, i know that the eventual winners would prob be 5 or 6 but i believe monkey and foxx are also incredibly competitive and may provide a upset, but also it would give other members a chance to test their skills in a fair battle and of most importantly "bragging rights" attached a pic for lookout views comment's/idea's are most welcome -------------------- WIP...

Might be worth giving it a try? Also, is killing the spectators allowed?

@raile ofc
if this idea gets off the ground and we get some participants also i'm thinking if we do have spectators, then matchups could be as easy as next up could jump off the cliff and straight into the action ^^ -------------------- WIP...

was considering something along these lines (like the original BAttlefield Royale tournament we did on BF2) - had held off since the last one was opened to the public, but the current state of admin/pbscreenshots etc., would not allow this;.
However I guess that would be moot if it was clan/friends of clan only eligable to join Couple of points, to run the server with a password it would have to be unranked; if it's unranked players don't get their unlocks. So it's either open to the public or passworded but with limited weaponary. (unless they've changed this recently) One suggestion: would it be better to make this 3 player e.g. 1v1v1? The last time we did a battlefield royale 1v1 there were quite a few cagey matches, camping and what not. On a 1v1 it's possible (although unsporting) to camp in a strong elevated position and snipe noobtube etc., since there's no incentive to move. Having 3 players fighting each other means that a person can't really camp - since if they're just sat out of the way the other 2 players can be racking up points from each other This will also allow me to make comments about filthy 3-ways etc., -------------------- |

well i was kinda thinking 1 v 1 as it's a true test of skill, and i would hope to think that most players play sportingly and move after each kill
also if someone is known to camp isn't it incredible easy to go sniper and blow him away with a m95/ or gustav? or maybe we could just have it as a rule from the onset that camping isn't allowed also maybe the spectators if any could lob a grenade in the general direction if a participant gets stuck ^^ -------------------- WIP...

ano problem with 3 players is
some players play the game a lot slower, i know for a fact i don't have anywhere near the skill to basically run around and still come up top in a 1 on 1 if there were 2 such players and a further slower player then the more cautious player may find the battle passes them by.... -------------------- WIP...

What about doing it as a 2 vs 2 battle? That way it doesn't just become typical SQDM spamming, but teamwork is rewarded as well.
(Don't really know if my opinion counts for anything, just thought I would weigh in. ) -------------------- |

weigh in all you llike ^^ kinda the point of a forum
while a 2 v 2 would be gr8, it also throws up the problem of choosing "teams" I can just see all the squabbling now "I want 6", "well I want 5", "D: waah I want them both" then the next thing would be, "you only won because you had 6,5 etc etc" -------------------- WIP...

hmm, if it's team based then the winners are more likely to be a strong team dictated by luck of the draw rather than individual skill.

if you let "friends of clan" play, i think there will be a few more players then just 5 and 6 to worry about?

The poor guy only just started hanging around our forums, lets give him a bit of breathing space before he has to contend with the likes of Sam and Jaffa
