This weekend took place the First International Chivalry Grand Convention!
There were a lot of seminars and discussions about battle strategies and tactics. We also practiced dueling, group fighting, drinking contests and victory celebrations training. Unanimously we concluded that we think we fight much better when we had a few drinks beforehand. I hope other First International Chivalry Grand Convention participants will report on their experiences as well. Following are a few pictures drawn by our resident painter. Well hello there!
So we got drunk with Cam, I meant we participated in the Second International Chivalry Grand Convention, that time in Montpellier. We met at St. Roch church right after the "Regulars spanked SM" event. As we represent either side, we prayed (drank) to victory or to forget. First, we tested some Guinness in Irish pub named Fitzpatrick (after the New Zealand All Blacks rugby player or more probably after some Irish surgeon) in the hearth of Montpellier! Later, Cam guided us around, by the way, I love the city, great architecture, many drunken student chicks, who could barely walk in narrow streets full of bars. We made it to Saint Pierre Cathedral, which looked like it took some enlargement pills or like some buildings in Chivalry, strangely larger then they should be. Cam said he would become a professor, as per ancient law, he would be allowed to enter the Cathedral on a horse. So we went to drink on that to cozy Shakespeare English Pub, where we tried some banana beer and IPAs. I wanted to play a local board game with Zombies, but they had more than 64 miniatures and the rules were more complicated than follow the yellow hovering idol, LMB thru enemies, try not to hit your mates. The next stop was Kebab place and then we arrived to the bar, with some rap contest happening, where we met Ecorce, Chiv and Mordhau player. Ecorce had not been rapping around, but having fun behind the counter, and he served us great drinks off the list, La Madeleine cocktails (+1 charisma for 30 minutes). We discussed how sneaky Frenchmen play Mordhau (everybody with buckler and spear just thrusting all the time) and stayed there till closing. From SM server perspective, we talked about Farmer, our poor rigs and wet dreams of 25+ FPS, girls playing incognito to avoid naughty horny boys harassing them online, about how SM lost vs Regulars due to Marsche absence, how the competitive community sucks and more. I was there with my friend Donatien, who never played Chivalry, and he was so impressed by Farmers fame and 10 000 + hours in the game, and especially when I showed him the video where Ian McElhinney (Ser Barristan Selmy from Game of Thrones) greets SM server and his special reference to Farmer. Donatien's Farmer theory is that Farmer is a very well programmed bot to test artificial intelligence and social interaction learning made by a programmer who forgot about his project and let it live out of control =)) Did I forget to mention anything public-able else, Cam?
