Right so I leave my PC in full working condition for a month and i come back to it not working.
Basically PC goes through BIOS fine but then the screen goes black after that never gets to Windows. At first thought it might be the graphics card had been moved by something so re-seated. Same problem. Just reset the CMOS and changed all the boot priorities problem still occurs. ...... Whilst im at it I think ive got a virus on my digital camera mem card. Can view all the pics fine on the camera but when you plug it in via USB it recognises the card but there's not DCIM folder for me to access. I know i can reformat the card and get rid of the virus but i want to keep all my pics. help pwease -------------------- |

hard drive spinning up? would assume if it wasn't the system would try all available boot devices then splurge the generic 'boot disk error, insert system disk and press enter' type message. If the screen is blacking out I'd assumed the computer was starting up windows but then hanging, but lawpf can correct me there if I've gotten the wrong end of the stick. -------------------- |
