Hey - was trying to get hold of Monkeyfriend. I'm Hazel. a maths grad from bristol now doing a crypto course, was hoping you could give me some advice on the crypto cipher challenge since you've completed it?
Have extracted the second link and have gone through the 7bit block, but am stuck at the 3rd block of hex, it doesn't transcribe to anything I've seen before? Any help will be greatly appreciated What games do you play here btw? H -------------------- |

What is this cipher challenge you speak of? I love cryptography puzzles it was some government sponsored program to find crypto experts in the general public. The first part of the challenge is closed (and the answers published) https://cybersecuritychallenge.org.uk/cipher.html The next part for me has been delayed till September if I remember the email and I'm not eligible for the other challenges. Reminded me of the old zebulun (later sered) challenges from cyberarmy (back in the old cyberarmy.com days where website rank was based on hacking ability until it went all mincy white-hat activist meh) -------------------- |

To anyone who's interested... the new cipher challenge is out. It's aimed at under 18's so is easier than the last one. For any of you who completed the last one, the registrations should be in the mail for the SANS/SOPHOS one, I'm booked in on the 21st Oct between 1400-2300.
Anyway the new challenge is available at: https://cybersecuritychallenge.org.uk/cipher.html Also I came across an old piece of uni work. A hybrid cipher that I developed as part of a university assignment, can be decrypted by hand without calcs or computers in around a minute (if you know it), however has never been cracked by human or software. Anyone decrypts it and I'll make some sort of shrine website to them. CODE 675455tgopihjxqzhtbngch987323ntswjluojhu xqzicyidmlopt844361 [edit@ forums dont like my formatting, that should all be on one line] [Edit 2: quickly did some more of the same cipher to make it easier] CODE 14475xguiiiqptiq26449unhpxjcuxksljduqgxq

If I get a spare moment I'll get to cracking it though, looks interesting. |

Had a fiddle around with the cypher of yours but made no progress towards any meaningful decryption.
