The new servers are online, I've set them up and added admin (tested on all servers)
Please let me know if you have any feedback regarding lag, lack of admin or anything else going wrong.
The old servers are now opened to the public and I'll leave these until their contracts run out.
I'll be intending to group together a maps pack for l4d1 and 2 and upload to both servers once I know they're stable

servers #1 && #2 do not have the insanity mod. server #10 does. can we get it on #1 && #2 ?
!admin stuff works good on all the l4d servers, except you have to do the alltalk vote every map
and it wouldn't let me choose it again after the first map

sv_search key sneaky and mm_dedi commands puts me on a server but the stats dont work using that method.
Servers havent got the SM welcome screen, probably haven't reloaded due to the new update last night.
Only 2 servers are in the L4D2 steam group server list in game.

connect serverip doesnt work for me on servers 12 and 13, think Cobolt had same problem.
I think only stats are working on servers 3 & 4. I'm not sure what servers sv_search_key sneaky connects too?

Stats don't work on either server 12 or 13. I think they do on 3 and 4 tho.
And the welcome screen is blank.
And sv_search_key sneaky took me to the 2nd #12 then took me to a non SM server.
And I used mm_dedi to connect to server #4. It connected fine but I had it set to expert campaign in lobby but server defaults to advanced. Not sure how to sort server so it doesnt change from what it was set to in lobby.

I noticed last night the welcome message was showing, it wasn't at 1 point tho.
I went through the stats from each server and saw 12 and 13 were collecting something from me. Gabe, Me_1230 , sven and some other dude were playing expert on server 12 or 13 last night and their stats weren't collecting, may have been b4 the sever was collecting tho.
I'll go through everything again now just to make sure. Maybe save u checking when u get home and can come play without hopefully rage quitting like last night, haha
ragecrashing more like... I alt tabbed out and l4d2 wouldn't come back although since I was dead (on account of my entire team going completely the wrong way leaving me shouting where are you going??!?) it probably didn't have any impact on the game
Don't mind server work... would rather get them all working-ish rather than find that everyone's been playing on random servers because ours have broken, but no-one got around to mentioning it
Will check the servers tonight anyway... would rather have a weekend of gaming than still be trying to fix them tmrw
Co-incidentally I tested out the 8 player coop and 8v8 on l4d2 last night, it works, but I needed modify and recompile sourcemod... which is not fun. Might give this a crack over the weekend though

Keep forgetting to mention but whenever I launch server for a vs on dead center, the first chapter has no items like medkits or guns etc. There's also no pick ups available. When the opposing team plays first chapter when we all dead, they have all items available.
ahh I heard grumblings of something along those lines... is this on a specific server or all servers?

If we create a game on server 4 from lobby, if you leave, u can't rejoin and can't invite anyone new. Not sure if #3 does it also.
recently i've noticed a lot of lag on both l4d2 servers
pings are good, but frames from the server are positively awful, it's like day of the teleporting zombie hordes out there ^^
also seems to be some issues with the new/old CSS style weps that have been added
you sometimes get "jesus pose" survivors running around, gangsta style shooting (tbh this one is quite comical) and weird animations when getting dragged by smokers ( chars look like they are hanging off ledges while moonwalking backwards ^^ )
also another time it was on hard rain map 1, the tier 1 weps were on the floor just at the start (nothing unusual there) but when picked up they transformed, into tier 2 weps AK's and Berlieni's
i dunno whats causeing these issues, but the most annoying one is the lag
could we have one server modded as is, and the other more vannilla with just usual admin/kick ban stuff only? to see if its the mods that are lagging out the server?
yep - anyone with admin can ftp into the server and move the relevent plugins into the disabled directory to stop them loading.
I've therefore disabled the weapon unlocky mods and will probably look over the source code in work to see if they're filled with my usual bad coding and typos that might be causing problems :-)

oh and another issue with l4d1 insanity mod
you can turn it on mid round but unable to turn it back off again :/
is a server restart the only way to deactivate? as running the standard config isn't really doing anything
yeah, this is a problem with all configs of this type. Basically it changes cvars, but L4D doesn't store the initial value of the cvars that you can see e.g. if you set gravity to 0.2 and want to undo this change you won't know what to set it back to (as the console normally shows sv_gravity or whatever it's called as blank) - so restarting the server loads the default configs and the stuff thats set by default not in the configs
I started doing an undo mod, but found the values as described as default on the interweb were often not correct. Also doesn't help when steam do an update and tweak default values - the effect of that is we turn a a mod on then the turn mod off option sets it back to slightly different modified valuse. gah
yeah i only brought this up, as we had a game last night and your mod made the game very difficult ^^
most of it i liked tbh, but i thnk the mod spawns too many zombs as the pings during boomer rapage jumped from 45-60 all the way up to 400-500 lol and frames went down to sub 15
i think just normal zombie spawns with slightly more health(so melee spam dont kill them) and poss a point more damage would have the same outcome without the lag
well it was a work in progress but never really got tested properly... ermm did you enable that mod or was it already on? am sure I've posted somewhere saying if you've enabled that mod to restart the server afterwards (to stop people being connfused )
Weird' I hadn't seen any additional pingage on the server when I tried it last time.. have reduced the number of horde back down to usual levels for now
i didnt get a bad framerate as such but pings did get a little high - i liked the mod however i dont think its a mod you can play with all talk on.
what ever you changed in the l4d2 servers seems to have worked monkey
had a sm game and there was 0% lag ^^ woot happy days
this is the official config for the ESL for when slightly more advanced teams are playing so killing someone means they stay dead lol
dunno if anyone would fancy having this as a option on the l4d2 servers to turn on/off as and when needed ?

okee dokey... I've added it to both L4D2 server (but they'll need to be restarted for it to take effect) - I've not included the annoying item remover (fire/explosive ammo/nade launcher) as they've included the sourcecode to make the file on the specific version of linux that we use (rather than nicely precompiling the plugins for windows/linux) so I'd need to jump into visual studio for a bit and compile it... everything else should work after a restart though :-)
