Yep, I constantly have hardware problems but its a good way to learn stuff....I think! These sound probs were prevailant before I got the Barracuda so any settings made no effect. http://f0x1e.250free.com/HeadsetConnection.jpg BTW, To save me from searching, whats the IP address of your BC2 server? |

Hey Magik, I was/am having issues with the sound in BC2 and thought it was my onboard sound. I also still sometimes have a sound issue within BF2 which is a different problem so I decided to buy a sound card and headset off my mate who no longer wanted them. The sound card is a Razer Barracuda AC-1 with matching 5.1 headset (the ones posted earlier I think - Megalodons)? I installed all latest drivers etc and discovered that the sound problem was still there on both games and that when using the headset in 5.1, I found it very intense and dare I say off-putting. I have now reverted back to the onboard sound on my EVGA 680i mobo which is a bit of a shame. The sound was good and the headset was awesome but I can't justify the extra cost. Not sure if anyone can help with my sound probs in both games but here goes: BC2: the sound is awesome but for some reason when firing rifle or pistol, the sound is really flat as if shooting through a pillow. When one-on-one, its hard to register my shots and just have to 'spray and prey'. Also, I can't work out which direction footsteps are coming from which is very annoying and get constantly stabbed in the back (nothing new there :). The Razer Barracuda 5.1 headset made no difference which surprised me. Yes I did set it up for 5.1 in the Razer interface. Yes I have tried all the other sound settings such as War Tapes etc. BF2: this is a strange one. When I log into the game I sometimes suffer a very small sound lag. When I fire my weapons, there is a fraction of a second delay so if I was to shoot at a wall the bullet will make a hole before I hear the shot. I recently sussed out that when pressing the buttons to start BF2 like Multiplay, Server, Control Settings etc, that the delay is there too so not actually just in game! This at least lets me know in advance now and means I have to restart BF2 (sometimes up tp five times before it clears). I recently reformatted my PC with two new hard drives set up in RAID-0, first program installed was BF2 of course and I was surprised to see the issue was still there from the start even after fresh install !!! Whoops sorry, I've hijacked your thread.... BTW, I am now using my trusty old worn out Altec Lansing headset which is great. skuta. |

wow nice post monkey! @quasi.. do you put money in to the FART clan server? do you have a server of your own? My guess is, that the answer to both of those is no.................... If I lived over there in the states, I could pick up your donation personally. Maybe someone else could to save you the hassle? |

I haven't actually played the 1.50 patch myself, everyone I asked about it said it was really poo compared to 1.41 but I might be game for jumping on your server at some point, I miss my L85 There isn't much difference in the patch really, but definitely an improvement regarding Cartillery etc. Oh and the L85 is my main weapon of choice again. Hope to see you out there. skuta. |

Although BF2 is out the window for me, a few people are getting bad company 2 and a server will be here on release day, so could maybe sort out a game or two there Let me know the IP address etc when you get up and running and I will forward that to our forum. Great to chat to you guys again and thanks for your continued support and help. I personally get fed up with these dudes thinking they know it all. BTW, that haw8 guy earned something like 16,000 points in less than 20 days. Possible, but backs up our 'other' evidence. These guys need to become admins and see what its really like out there! skuta. (still hurting from that last scrim). |

Hey guys, Thanks for the spam info and thanks Fido for bringing that post to our attention, I have made a short reply. I don't think I will be playing Bad Company 2 Magik, not as yet anyway. Some of the guys are playing it and liking it so far. I'm not very good at adapting to new games but the thought of BF3 in the pipeline might change that. So what are you guys up to these days? I still see dumdum71 at work but not as much because of our conflicting shift pattern. I understand he doesn't play BF2 now or not as much anyway after breaking his disc before 1.50 patch was released. Why not pop into one of our servers sometime for a spot of good old BF2? We would love to see you there. We also host an AIX server where you can battle it out with those damn bots. Really good fun owning them bishes. Thanks guys, stay safe and hopefully see you soon. skuta. |

Hey Monkey, feels kinda strange being here again and hope you and Foxx are well as with the rest of your motley crew. ;-) Firstly, let me apologise to you and =SM= for this petty tirade that you obviously don't need nor care about which has been dumped on your forum. I am not going to get too involved with this matter because as far as we (the =FaRT= clan) are concerned, its done and dusted. We don't need to justify our actions to every man in the street after every ban etc. Basically, we have rules like any other decent server out there. We don't ban without warnings and these guys were warned many times for breaking rules (not for being 'too good'). We captured lots of video of these guys continually spawn raping without trying to capture flags as a squad. We also witnessed mines, C4, ammo packs, Medic packs, kitchen sinks, old bicycles etc etc etc being tossed out of the helo in places of no importance. Yes, we are aware that we cannot blame the pilot for these actions carried out by his squad but where do you draw the line? It is in actual fact, stat-padding! Because of these guys actions, we now have scrolling text ingame stating, *** The Blackhawk is not a stat-padding machine - Cap flags *** Its a real shame these guys are behaving like picked on school kids but they brought it upon themselves. Its our server that WE pay for and its our right to uphold the rules the best we can. We have held a top 20 position in Gametrackers World Rankings for a good time now, surely we are doing something right? So once again, Sorry to Monkey and the great =SM= clan for this being brought here. I wish you guys would get into BF2 again for some good afternoon battles. Maybe when BF3 is released we shall see you again? Thanks all, skuta. |

Sorry about the lack of organisation. It appeared that the match was forgotten about. The guy who sets up our match server was AWOL and I couldn't get into the server to alter maps etc. I'm also sorry that I was absent from time to time but the missus had cooked dinner and I had to scoff it as fast as I could. I/we couldn't believe the way you guys constantly tore us down. It was like "He's mine...BANG, I'm dead!!!" I know high pings make a big difference as I play US based servers all the time and I live in England, I should have reset my SettingsManager.floatSet thingy to 39 instead of 126 I suppose. God knows, I needed all the help I could get. One day, when we are organised (yeah right) we will have a go on our Mashtuur server. Thanks once again guys for your hosting. skuta. |

ahh sorry to hear about it - glad I'm not really playing bf2 anymore. If you need a hand with locating this guy or a hand with the forums, then please feel free to give me a shout. Thanks Monkey, always grateful of your help but this time I think its been a mass hacking spree as it appears its happened to a lot over the last week or two. Still the best game in the world though.... |

I was a 3 star General and ELCo21 was only 99 points away from making Colonel yesterday and now we are 4 star Generals with all expert badges. skutaboy - http://bf2s.com/player/65110605/ Elco21 - http://bf2s.com/player/71299427/ We believe its an enemy from the past and we will make a submission to EA. I just want you all to know incase anyone wonders whats going on. Our forum is down too as I write this so not sure if any other members have been attacked. To say I'm gutted is an understatement. lol nice work, wish I could have ranked up that quickly I already had the points and time but needed Veteran Armor badge. As soon as I got that, the rest followed. Its a shame I was twatted with an A.T. rocket just as I got my last kill but I was lagging because of Fraps running. |

Yep its true because that is what I have done over the last few weeks. The price includes postage for the disc that comes from USA...awesome. A good tip is to download 64bit drivers for all your software/hardware etc. and keep them on a flash-drive or DVD until you need them! |
